Are You "Qualified" To Do That?

This morning, while heading into church, I was thinking about all of the exciting things that have been happen to me and through me. I tell you, it's amazing  to watch.

However, in the back of my mind, I've quietly asked myself what makes me qualified to talk about success, when I haven't made a million dollars yet? How can I talk about great health when I'm still fighting to uncover my own six pack? How can I talk to people about changing their lifestyle, when I'm still driving a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica? How can I ever imagine being a mentor or coach when my own life isn't perfect?

Want to know God's response? It went something like this:

"WHERE I am is not WHO I am because WHO I am is greater than WHERE I am." ~ Dr. Samuel R. Chand

I kid you not. This was literally the message this morning. Understand how powerful that message is. It does not matter what your current circumstances are if you understand who you are (and whose you are).

You have to catch this point. It does not matter what car you drive (or don't drive), what job you have (or don't have), what house you live in (or don't live in), what skills you have (or skills you lack), and it doesn't matter if you're living a "perfect" life or not. Why? you may ask.

The answer is simple, "Greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world." 1 John 4:4 (KJV)

"God doesn't call the qualified, he qualifies the called."

Now is the time to embrace your calling, your purpose, your mission. You may not know HOW it will get done, just trust that by stepping out in FAITH and doing what you can, the HOW will reveal itself.

Today is your day, Champions! Drop the F.E.A.R. and go get what you came for!

My Strategy On Being A Mentor

"First, I'll tell you how to do it, I'll show you how to do it, I'll do it with you, I'll watch you do it, and then I'll let you fly."

One of the most rewarding aspects of my business is leadership development and personal growth. As an individual, we get to a certain level of success and then turn around and help others achieve similarly. As we help others get to where we are, we also get an opportunity to advance toward the next level (or lesson) in our developmental journey.

Lately, what I have come to value is the importance of being a mentor (and later, even a coach, cheerleader, and counselor). Please understand that I'm not perfect, nor do I have it all figured out, but I trust the Lord, follow his commandments, get around other leaders who are further along in their development then me, learn from them, and then turn around to assist someone with navigating the "mind field" to where I am today.

It is a powerful strategy to get us closer to our dreams. Find someone who has what you want and do what they do. If you're a mentor, turn around and give information freely to those who are hungry to both receive it and do something with it.

Here's a lesson: Spend your time with those who deserve it, not those who need it. While it may sound harsh, it will keep you sane (as a mentor) and help you avoid wasting energy or breath. The ones who deserve your time are the ones who LISTEN and APPLY the knowledge. This is an important distinction.

While many WANT change, only a few will ever take ACTION to actually make it real. Pour into everyone (mainly in groups), but spend your individual (one-on-one) time with those who deserve it.

Today is the day that the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it. Make the most of today. Seek to be better today than you were yesterday.

Let's get it, Champions!

Dear Business Owners: Be A People Builder

"You don't build a business, you build people and then people build the business." ~ Zig Ziglar

Zig was right, your job as a leader is to lead your organization. First, you do and then you teach others how to do the same. As you experience success, show people how to achieve success in their lives. As you learn, find a way to give that knowledge away.

Find a mentor who actively pours life into you, but then find someone that you can mentor. Remember, "You can have everything in life you want, if you'll just help enough other people get what they want." - Zig Ziglar

Today, let's make it a point to build up the people around us. Let's help others experience success, achieve goals, and find purpose.

As a CHAMPION, you were given the opportunity to help others, let's go do what we were created for.

Courage

"Courage is doing what you're afraid to do." ~ Eddie Rickenbacker

Right now, fear is stopping you from doing something in your life. Fear is hindering you from achieving greatness. Maybe it's the fear of rejection, fear of failure, fear of success, fear of what others might say, fear that things will turn out like the last time, or maybe even fear of the unknown.

Whatever the source of your fear, today is the day to release the beast from within and kill off the weakness that you've nurtured for too long. You are a CHAMPION, an OVERCOMER, a child of the KING, and you do NOT have the spirit of fear; but of POWER, and of LOVE, and of a SOUND MIND.

Now, get off your tail and go get what you came for!!!!!!!!
