Celebrating Success: Mr. Kanem Dupree

Happy Friday, ya'll!

Can I share something with you? I woke up this morning totally excited. See, I knew what was coming and it felt an awful lot like Christmas morning as a kid. Remember that feeling? (Laughing)

Let me take a moment just to publicly celebrate with my friend, Kay Dupri. Taking you back for a moment, it was about 9 months ago that Mr. Dupri and I sat outside the Smithfield Outlet Mall talking about success, helping people, and locking arms to make something magical happen in the Goldsboro/Smithfield area.

Do understand, we don't intend to limit that success to just Wayne and Johnston Counties, we understood that if we can help develop leaders and show them how to improve their lives through goal setting and vision casting, we could do it anywhere.

Today, Kanem has reached a level of development and success that deserves recognition. He has made me so proud. See, he was willing to partner with me on something long before it had seriously taken root. He believed in me and was willing to go through the struggles and challenges to make our dreams come true.

No, we haven't reached our ultimate goal, YET (laughing), but we have made some significant strides in the right direction. Today, he is the beneficiary of hard work, late nights, and long phone calls with me (that's work in of itself). (Laughing).

Kay, my "Running Partner", my "Road Dog", my "Ace"...I am so proud of you and who you are becoming. Thank YOU for rocking with me, encouraging me, and inspiring me to be better each and every day. This is just the beginning for you and I'm totally excited to see what your future holds.

Let's get it my Ninja!

VIP Members at the Momentum Event in Louisville, KY

Team Vision at Momentum 2015 in Louisville, KY

Back in Louisville, those of us in VIP got early access to the event. Here are a few of my friends from all over the United States.

Imagine, if you can, loud upbeat music playing with lights, cameras, and plenty of pretty faces in the crowd. I kid you not, it's like a family reunion or homecoming each time we all get together.

Love these people. There is something amazing about positive people who just like to have fun and smile a lot.

2015 Transformation: Day 2 of 80

Today I completed Day 2 of 80 in the gym. I weighed in at 228.5 lbs, which is about 14 pounds heavier than when I finished the last 12 week transformation.

Completing the 4 week DTP program added more muscle, but also increased my fat percentage to like 14% from 10%. Immediately following that, we went into two holidays and a cruise. Not making any excuses, but I don't want to fall victim to that mistake next year.

As with any journey, it begins with a single step. Getting back into the habit of eating and working out feels like riding a bike, but it will require some effort to get it back to my normal routine.

My evenings have to end around 9:30 pm at the latest if I'm going to make those dramatic changes in my life. It will mean a sacrifice somewhere, but it will be worth it.

Today's focus was on chest and triceps. Tomorrow, it's LEG DAY!

The Next 80 Day Sprint Begins Today!

Today is my first day back after a WONDERFUL weekend celebrating successes. Yes, there will be more pictures telling the story of my time in Louisville, KY, but today marks day ONE of my next sprint. Therefore, I'm going to jump ahead to the end and just get things going.

Last year, I learned the value of setting goals and just going all out for a period of time. Well, having completed a successful sprint, it is now time to set some new goals for the next 80 days. That's how many days I have left until the next big event in Kansas City.

So, by April 17, 2015, I will have achieved the following:

1) 6% Bodyfat as a result of the 12 week body transformation.
2) Moved from Senior Rep to Director in my company.
3) Completed Chapters 1-3 of Dissertation.

To do that, I am just going to go all in for the next 80 days. No television, no movies, and nothing extra that doesn't move me forward in these three areas.

It starts today and you are my accountability partner during this process. It means that you'll see a ton of repetitive posts, pictures, and updates while I'm on this journey. Is that ok? Are you with me? Ready to get started?

Here we go...

Adversity Will Either Break You or Help You Break Records

"Adversity causes some men to break; others to break records." - William Arthur Ward

There are times in our lives when it feels like world is against us. Nothing seems to go right and you simply feel like you don't have the energy to continue. It is at these times that you get to find out what you're made of.

When faced with challenges, you have a choice. Will you fight for what you want or will you give in? Sometimes, there will be moments where sitting in the middle isn't a decision you get to make. It will either be one or other, but never both.

Napoleon Bonaparte once said, "Take time to deliberate, but when the time for action has arrived, stop thinking and go in."

I totally agree. Take a moment to ponder your options, but then take a stand and go all in. Fight for what you want. Be consistent and persistent in your battle. Once you decide to win, do not stop until you do.

Today is your day. Decide to go all in and get after what you want. Be a record breaker, Champion. Let's go!

Farewell Bahamas! The End of Team Vision's Cruise 2014

In the morning, before we all jumped off the boat, a few of the team members, and their guests, took a picture on the back part of the ship.

Overall, the cruise entertained around 450 friends and family from all over the United States. Each year, the numbers continue to grow, which makes it exciting. We get a chance to meet new people, strengthen old friendships, and discuss our next adventures.

As my virtual tour through the Bahamas trip last month comes to a close, I hope that you enjoyed my perspective.

I know the next big vacation will be in the July/August time frame. Some are talking about going back to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, which is a place I've never been. Woohoo!

Once I get some more information on that trip, I'll be sure to share it with you. So, stay tuned.

Again, thank you for rocking with me. Now, it's back to my regularly scheduled programming.

Until next time...

Focus on Planting, Not Reaping!

"Don't judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds that you plant." - Robert Louis Stevenson

There are some days, like recently, where we want things to happen more quickly than they are. Think about the areas in your life where this may apply. It may be a change in your body, business, or relationships that just isn't happening fast enough.

A mentor once told me, we should enjoy the journey. Instead of focusing on the results, focus on the daily disciplines (actions) that eventually produce our desired results.

As a kid, my mom used to say, "A watched pot doesn't boil." Everything takes time. So it is in our lives. Learn to love the planting process (enjoy the journey). In time, the results will come. Focus too hard on the results and we stop planting. As a result, we will see more discouragement and disappointment (the weeds).

Focus on planting seeds and let God handle the rest.

Make today a great one, Champions!

Back to the Majesty After a Day in the Sun

After our last picture on the beach, we walked back to the taxi cabs that were waiting for us on the other side of the hill. Like a game of musical chairs, people were hopping from vehicle to vehicle trying to find where they fit in.

By the look on everyone's faces, it had been a long day full of fun in the sun. There were those who wanted to race back and get cleaned up for the evening festivities while others just needed a nap.

On the way back to the boat, people stopped off to grab gifts from the local stores. If you're good, you can haggle down to a great price for just about everything.

Looking at the picture, I see that I was able to get a tan. It starts off red, but eventually evens out to a nice bronze. Well, at least I think so. :)

Thank You for 40 Years!

Good Monday morning! For many of us, it's back to our regularly scheduled programs. For me, I need the structure of purpose each day. To know that I'm getting up for a reason outside myself.

As I get my early morning cardio session in, I want to stop and thank you for my birthday wishes. I am overwhelmed by the outpour of love that you gave. While I don't have an exact count right now, I do know that an excess of 600-700 people took time out of their day to think of me. That is huge!

Being 40 years of age is a gift. I have my health, wonderful family and friends that love me, and a life full of great memories. I know friends and extended family that didn't make it to this point, so I feel blessed for the years given. I believe that we all have a purpose in which we must fulfill. For me, I just want to make the most of the life I have and touch as many lives as I can in the process.

From the bottom of my heart, know that I am so appreciative of you and your imprint on my life. Over the next couple of days, I will do my best to personally thank each of you.

Now, to all of the Champions out there, it's rise and grind time. Let's go!

Getting Off the Majesty of the Seas into Nassau, Bahamas

Nassau, Bahamas

The next morning, we arrived safely to Nassau, Bahamas. The weather was beautiful and it was setting up to be an even warmer day than before.

Friends and I went up to the 11th floor for breakfast and discussed the plans for our day. Like Coco Cay, there are exciting things to do, but Nassau is a much larger place and offers a lot of different things.

We talked about going to the Atlantis Resort, which you can see clearly from the ship, but I was interested in doing something slightly different this time around.

Another group talked about going to an open beach not far from the resort.  There was talk about jet skis, banana boats, massages on the beach, and much more. Yep, that decision was an easy one. We're going to Paradise Island.

After everyone finished eating, we agreed to meet outside of the ship at around 11:30 am and then we would go from there.

While waiting outside for everyone, we all have to go through security before leaving the ship, I took a few pictures of the others vessels in the harbor. As you can see in the pictures, there is the standard size cruise ships of years past, but now there are even larger ones setting sail. Check out the Oasis of the Seas, which simply dwarfs the other smaller ships. Wow!
