Amazon Reveals The Fire Tablet For $199

During an interview with Bloomberg Businessweek, Amazon Executives reveal the 7-inch Kindle Fire tablet, which will go to market with a $199 price tag. Equipped with Android OS, the e-reader will allow users to read books, watch television and full-length movies, and listen to music.

When compared to Apple's least expensive iPad, which sells for $499, this new device may entice the bargain shopper.

Additional Details
  • No embedded camera or microphone
  • Provides wi-fi but not 3G access
  • 30-day trial of Amazon Prime (worth $79)
Without the camera, this is a no go for my mother who wants to see and talk with her grand babies, but it still sounds like a worthy device.

What do you think? Is it worth a look see? Let me know your thoughts in the comment section below.
