It's Here! Google Reader For Android Has Arrived... Finally!

Yes, you read the title correctly. According to the Google Reader Blog, Google Reader for Android is now available for download in the Android Market.

Wait! Before you race off, why not see what it can do, first. Yes?

According to the article, the app functions a lot like the web site. Google Reader for Android allows you to easily do the following:

  • See all unread feeds
  • Access starred items
  • Read friends' shared items
  • Manage subscriptions (subscribe, unsubscribe, edit title, and move into folder)
  • Star, "Like", share, and make a note from any item (very cool!)
  • Add multiple accounts
  • Search feeds
For me, my favorite upgrade of all is the easy navigational buttons. When trying to peruse feeds in the mobile browser, I had to click on this little button in the upper right hand corner. Can we say, "Fat Fingers?" Today, there are two large buttons that point up/down for a quick review of stories. Perfect!

If you haven't done so yet, I encourage you to check out the new Google Reader for Android and let me know what you think.

If you like what you've read, take this opportunity to subscribe to my RSS Feed and Newsletter.  However, don't forget to connect with me on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google Buzz, or Friendfeed.
