Invite Facebook Friends To Watch Your Mobile Broadcast Using Color

You remember that neat mobile application called "Color," right? No? Well, it was a highly touted application that was supposed to change the way we share pictures. In a nutshell, you take a picture on your mobile device and it was supposed to show you pictures from people close to you.

Imagine attending a conference or dinner party and seeing a bunch of pictures from various viewpoints. Conceptually, it sounds great. Unfortunately, it never really took off.

I recall trying to get friends on board, but it was too complicated and it didn't work well. I remember seeing pictures from people in Las Vegas. But wait, I'm in North Carolina.

Today, the New York Times reports that Color is partnering with Facebook and plans to offer users a unique way to connect live.

This is how it works:

So, there you have it. A mobile application that encourages Facebook web users to watch your live broadcast from the mobile device. According to the article, Color will work on the iPhone and Android devices using either 3G or Wi-Fi. Also, it's a broadcast tool intended for large audiences. If you're looking for a one-on-one video stream, Skype or FaceTime may be for you.

What do you think? Would you use it? Does it sound exciting? Tell me what you think in the comment section below.
