A First Look at the Levrone Formula

For months, I have been actively following the blogs of Kevin Levrone. If the name doesn't ring a bell, let me take this opportunity to introduce you to an impressive bodybuilder of the 90's and early 2000's. Take a look at the following video that captures Kevin posing in the gym.

Since watching this, it has since become a favorite bodybuilding clip. Enjoy!

To some, this may be far too much muscle, but I like it. Truth be told, I would love to look like this someday. I know that it takes a lot of work and self-control to attain this sort of mass and definition, but I'm working it.

In any case, the purpose of this post is to talk about the supplement, Levrone Formula. If you're not familiar, the Levrone Formula is a pre-workout powder that mixes with water. According to the website, it does the following things:
  • Increase strength and endurance
  • Boosts NO2 blood levels for extreme pump
  • Provides energy without jitters or crash
  • Improves mental clarity and focus
  • Heat and vascularity to get you in the zone
  • Train harder & longer with more weight
For me, I was just looking for more energy during my workouts. If Kevin believes his product is better than the competition, I'm interested in giving it a try.

First Impression
The day Levrone Formula went on sale, I ordered a tub of Full Blown Berry from bodybuilding.com for about $42 + shipping and handling. Needless to say, I was extremely excited to try out this heavily touted formula.

A few days later, the shipment arrived in the mail. I tore into the box and pulled out a small container with black and silver writing. It said, "Levrone Formula" and the sound of steel hitting steel rang in my ears.

I pulled out my plastic shaker and added 8 ounces of cold water. Then, I took a level scoop of gray/purple-ish powder from within the tub and added it to the water. Like magic, the powder turned the water a deliciously pink grapefruit color. With a few extra shakes of the mixing cup, most of the powder had dissolved. It was time. The moment of truth had arrived.

I flipped the lid of the shaker and put the spout to my mouth. The cool liquid flowed past my lips where I allowed my tongue to explore the vivid flavors of ... ECK! What in the world is this?

My first reaction was to spit it out, but I was standing on my beige livingroom carpet and didn't want to stain it anymore than it already is (thanks kids). My face wrinkled up as if I was sucking on a sour lemon. Should I swallow? I asked myself. I had witnesses, so if I were poisoned they at least knew where I got it from. After the initial shock had worn off, I decided to be a man and just swallow it.

After some time, I concluded that it tastes like ground up aspirin powder, mixed with vitamin C, and concentrated beet juice (minus any sugar). Where they got full blown berry out of this is beyond me, because even with a good imagination I couldn't taste it.

With the taste having been established, I began feeling the effects of the Levrone Formula about 20-minutes later. I had just arrived at the gym when this feeling of focus and energy hit me. It was very distinct.

To my surprise, I completed an entire weight training routine in 30-minutes compared to a normal 45-minutes. In addition, I exceeded all of my goals for the day, which speaks highly of the product. Did I mention I also completed a 60-minute cardio session that morning and then came back for another two-hour workout that afternoon? I put the Levrone Formula to the test and it passed with flying colors.

Summary
In review, the Levrone Formula does exactly what it says it will do. It provides energy, focus, and endurance without any negative caffeine jitters. I was extremely pleased with my results in the gym as a result of taking this product. However, do understand that the taste is not pleasant at all. Clearly, it is not a drink you sip on beside the pool, but rather a means to an end. Therefore, I recommend the Levrone Formula for those seeking results in the gym, but hope Kevin and his team can enhance the taste for a wider adoption.
