Food Review: Angel Hair Toscana from Bj's Restaurant & Brewhouse

During my recent trip to Washington State, I enjoyed dinner with some long time friends. My meal for the evening was the Angel Hair Toscana from BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse. According to the menu, it can be described as such:
Delicate angel hair pasta tossed with olive oil, garlic, sun-dried tomatoes, fire-roasted red peppers, fresh basil, feta cheese, pine nuts, Roma tomatoes topped with fresh Parmesan cheese and parsley.
As you can see from the video, the dish had tomatoes, feta cheese, and pine nuts. What I didn't immediately catch were the sun-dried tomatoes and fire-roasted red peppers. I mistakenly mentioned a wine-based sauce, but later learned it was simply olive oil with other herbs and spices.

In hindsight, the light dish lacked a strong kick that might have made it more memorable. I enjoyed the feta cheese, tomato, noodle, and pine nut combination, but could have used more garlic, red peppers, and a punch to match.

To be fair, I actually ordered the dish with chicken, but the staff forgot to add it in time for the video. The grilled chicken added a little more character to the pasta, but unfortunately the late comer didn't change the overall score.

While the Angel Hair Toscana may not scream for an encore, my time at Bj's was not wasted. The dimly lit restaurant provided refreshing drinks from the bar and an attentive staff that provided above average service. In the end, I was able to enjoy a fun-filled evening with friends.
